Shipping Policy (Wholesale)
Cornovo Saddlery ships saddle pads and equestrian tack for importers, distributors, and brands. Default commercial terms are FOB Tianjin or Shanghai, China, unless the quotation states otherwise.

Delivery terms
- Default: FOB Tianjin or Shanghai (sea). Confirm the port on each quotation.
- Other modes (air, rail, courier for samples) and other Incoterms can be discussed; they must be written into the quote or PI.
- Under FOB, risk and freight responsibility typically pass at the named port of shipment per the agreed Incoterm definition. Confirm details on your order.
Lead times (typical)
| Stage | Typical timing | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Samples | About 1 week to prepare | Sample freight arranged separately. Confirm on quote. |
| Bulk production | About 20 days | Starts after sample approval (when required), deposit, and confirmed specification. Confirm on quote. |
Ready-to-ship or simple stock-style lots may be faster. Heavy customization, embroidery, leather patches, or special packing can take longer. Always use the dates on your quotation / PI.

Packing and carton marks
Before production, agree:
- Inner packing (polybag, retail bag, hang tag, barcode if needed)
- Outer carton strength and piece count per carton
- Carton marks (buyer name or code, PO, style, color, size, quantity, destination, handling marks)
We pack to the agreed plan. Extra retail or marketplace packing may affect cost and MOQ—confirm on the quote.
Documents
Typical export set (confirm for your destination):
- Commercial invoice
- Packing list
- Bill of lading / AWB / other transport document as applicable
- Other certificates only if agreed in writing for that order
Tell us early if your market needs specific invoice wording, HS references, or packing declarations.
Who arranges freight?
Unless we agree otherwise in writing:
- Buyer (or buyer’s forwarder) books main carriage under FOB.
- We can introduce forwarders or help coordinate pickup at the FOB port when useful; that does not change the Incoterm unless the PI says so.
- Sample shipments are often courier; freight payer is agreed before dispatch.
Duties, taxes, and import clearance
Destination customs duties, taxes, and clearance are the buyer’s responsibility unless the quotation uses a delivered term that says otherwise. Classify goods under the correct tariff for your market and check any product rules that apply to equestrian soft goods.
Claims related to shipping
- Quantity or packing issues visible on arrival: follow the return / defect process (or current claims path from sales) with photos, order ref, and carton marks (or ask sales for the current claims email path).
- Damage after FOB handover: open a claim with the carrier / forwarder; copy us if you need factory support on packing evidence.
