Sample, quality and packing approval
Before requesting a sample
Send the product reference, target dimensions and measuring method, material requirements, quantity by variant and destination. Ask which sample options are available, what the sample and courier charges cover, and when the sample can be dispatched. Record requested changes separately from the existing product reference.
Approve a repeatable specification
Keep an approved sample and a dated specification together. Check dimensions, construction, edge finishing, lining coverage, stitching, attachment placement and any hardware relevant to the selected model. Agree tolerances and any required test methods with the supplier; photographs alone do not establish performance or certification.
Packaging and barcode brief
Confirm individual packing, labels, barcode type and artwork, units per carton, carton dimensions and gross weight. Review label placement and readability on a sample pack. Destination or marketplace requirements should be supplied with the brief and confirmed before printing.
Timing and cost comparison
Ask when the production lead time starts, which approvals or payments it depends on, and what is included in the shipping quotation. Separate production time from transport time. Compare quotations using the same specification, quantity and included charges; confirm applicable import charges separately.
